Meet the photographer
Hi! I’m Amy Murphy, the owner and photographer behind Murphy’s Memories Photography.
I’m a wife, a mom to three beautiful children, and a lifelong North Carolina girl, with a little piece of my heart belonging to the coast. I love all things beach, lighthouses, and, of course, photography! Photography has been a part of more than half of my life. I got my start at a chain portrait studio while studying photography in college, where I quickly grew from photographer to studio manager. After college, I stepped away from photography for a few years to pursue a career in engineering, but it didn’t take long to realize that my heart belonged behind the camera. After welcoming our first child, I found my way back to photography and never looked back. By the time our second child arrived, I had transitioned to working full-time in the studio. Today, I feel incredibly blessed to have built a career doing something I truly love while also being able to be present for the moments that matter most with our children.
Photography has given me so much more than a career—it has given me the opportunity to preserve memories, connect with wonderful families, and tell stories through beautiful imagery. I’m so grateful to be able to do what I love and call it my work.
Making Memories
For more than 20 years, I have had the privilege of capturing some of life’s most meaningful moments for families—from couples beginning their lives together, to welcoming a precious newborn, raising growing children, and even celebrating the beautiful season of an empty nest.
Family is one of life’s greatest treasures, and the moments we share together become the memories we hold onto for years to come. It would be my honor to preserve those moments for you—the little everyday details, the big milestones, and everything in between.

From there, we’ll talk about what matters most to you, what you’re envisioning, and how I can best capture it. My goal is to make the entire experience relaxed and enjoyable, while creating beautiful, timeless images that you and your family will treasure even generations from now.
